Perforce Customer Information

Please install them in the following order:

• Reprise - on license server machine (if you already have RLM Reprise Server installed, you don't need to upgrade, therefore skip this step)
• Helix-QAC - on desktop client machine/s
• Compliance Modules (for instance: M3CM - MISRA-C:2012) - on desktop client machine/s

Next, please install Helix-QAC followed by compliance modules (for instance M3CM) – this will automatically detect where Helix-QAC has been installed and install the compliance module into the correct directory.

You are now ready to launch Helix-QAC!

When Helix-QAC launches the first time, you will need to set the license server address from the admin menu (the menus are the same in both the Helix-QAC GUI and the integration), here please enter the following:

Server: <server ip or hostname>

Port: <reprise port (default 5055)>

Project upgrade:

If you have already a QAC project configured with an older version, you can use it with a later release upgrading the project.

• Open the terminal
• Run qacli -v for making sure you are using the new QAC version (if not, adjust the environment path or use the qacli full path)
• Make a backup of your current prqa\configs folder
• Run qacli admin -P <project_path> -u
• You can now open the project with the new version

Note: This feature is available from PRQA-Framework 2.3.0

If Reprise is already installed, it's not necessary updating it, unless you need a specific feature provided.

We recommend installing Reprise into C:\PRQA to avoid any Windows permissions issues.

Once Reprise has been installed, please copy your license into the Reprise directory, you will then be able to start the Reprise License Manager (RLM).

RLM can be accessed from its web interface at http://localhost:5054/.

If you would like to add Reprise as a Windows service, this can be done via the command line (running as administrator) by entering the following command:

rlm -dlog <log_filename> -install_service -service_name <service_name>

For example:

rlm -dlog C:\PRQA\RLM-11.1\debug.log -install_service -service_name RLMServer

This has now added the service 'RLMServer', however this will need to be started, and RLM will be running on ports 5054 and 5055.

⚠ If you are installing Helix-QAC on Windows 7, you need to set this ENVIRONMENT PATH :

MIMALLOC_DISABLE_REDIRECT=1

• To install as a Standard User, simply "double click" or press "enter" on the installation package. The installation wizard will guide the user through the process.
• To install as an Administrator, right click on the installation package, and select "Run as Administrator".
• Silent Installation Mode: During this installation, the user is not shown any dialogues nor prompted for any information.
  Note: This results in automatic acceptance to the license agreement.
  • From the terminal, run the command Helix-QAC-[VERSION]-[BUILD]-Win.exe /s /v"/qn"
  • To specify the installation directory: Helix-QAC-[VERSION]-[BUILD]-Win.exe /s /v"/qn INSTALLDIR=C:\Apps

• To install as a Standard User, execute ./Helix-[VERSION]-[BUILD]-Linux.run : this extracts the software to a new sub directory

• To install as an Administrator, execute the above command as root or run sudo ./Helix-[VERSION]-[BUILD]-Linux.run : this installs the software in

  /opt/Perforce

• Silent Installation Mode: During this installation, the user is not shown any dialogues nor prompted for any information.
  Note: This results in automatic acceptance to the license agreement.
  • From the terminal, run the command ./Helix-QAC-[VERSION]-[BUILD]-Linux.run -- -q
  • To specify the installation directory: ./Helix-QAC-[VERSION]-[BUILD]-Linux.run -- --quiet
