Installing the Helix ALM Desktop Client
As part of your Perforce ALM free trial, you can also try the Perforce ALM desktop client. It takes just four steps to install:
Download and install the Perforce ALM desktop app for Windows, Mac, or Linux:
Our desktop app works with most operating systems, but if you have questions check out our KB article on Perforce ALM Client System Requirements.
Note: To ensure your trial works properly, verify these settings:
Server Name: Helix ALM Trial
Server Address: tryhelixalm.perforce.com
Server Port: 99*
*Your IT or networking team may need to open port 99 for you. It could be blocked by your firewall.
Enter your username and password to log in.
If you did not receive the email with your username and password, please send us an email and we'll get you started.
Choose the Perforce ALM modules you are interested in trying out during your trial:
- Perforce RM for requirements management
- Perforce TCM for test case management
- Perforce IM for issue management
Choose any combination or select all three to try the full, unified Perforce ALM suite.
The sample project included in your trial has two examples of how Perforce ALM can be configured:
- Are your requirements, test cases, and issues relatively straightforward? Try the standard Sample Project.
- In a regulated industry or have highly complex requirement or test management needs? Check out the Life Sciences Project.
You can try out a different template by choosing it from the Project dropdown list after logging on.
