Changes you make to open files in your workspace do not affect the depot until you submit them in a pending changelist. You can submit a pending changelist by:
The Submit Default Changelist page displays a form containing these fields:
- Changelist: This is a read-only field whose value is "new" when you are editing the default changelist. Your changelist will be assigned a number when it is submitted.
- Client: Your client name. (Read-only.)
- User: Your user name. (Read-only.)
- Status: Default changelists have a status of "new". (Read-only.)
- Description: Information about what is being changed. This information will be stored permanently in the Perforce depot when you submit the changelist.
When this field is first displayed it contains the text:

- Jobs: Perforce jobs to close when this changelist is submitted. If you have a Jobview value set in your user spec, jobs matching that jobview will automatically appear in this field.
- Files: The files associated with this changelist. The checkboxes indicate which of the files will be submitted. You can uncheck any you do not wish to submit; those files will be left open in a new default changelist after the current one is submitted.
After entering a description and selecting the files you wish to submit, click Submit to submit the files. If you decide you don't want to submit the files after all, use the "Return to Browser" shortcut button or Go To->Path Browser to leave the Submit Default Changelist page.
