Click on the Settings tab to bring up a form that allows you to change your Perforce settings and P4Web preferences. Please note:

• You must click the "Save" button on the Settings page to store your new settings. Then click on any of the other tabs to go to a different P4Web page with the new settings in effect.

• Using your browser's "Back" button after you click the "Save" button on the Settings page will not preserve settings. Instead, that takes you to back a page that uses your previous settings.

• Some settings and preferences are applicable only if you are using P4Web in Standard mode. They won't be visible to P4Web users in Viewer mode.

Change Client

This setting allows you to change the name of the client workspace you want to use.

Click on the Clients tab to see a list of existing client workspaces. If you leave this blank, P4Web uses its startup environment to determine which client workspace to use.

Change Password

This setting allows you to change the password for the client workspace you are using. Enter the old password in the Old Password field and then enter your new password into each the two New Password fields (so you enter it twice).

Back-in-Time Browsing®

• On -- click this button and enter a date or changelist number in the adjacent field to turn on Back-in-Time Browsing®. (For dates, use the format YYYY/MM/DD or YYYY/MM/DD:HH:MM:SS.)

• Off -- click this button to turn off Back-in-Time Browsing®.

Diff/Resolve Preferences

• Set the Show option to determine the display format of the diffed files:

  all diffs shows all of the diffs in the file.
  diffs ignoring whitespace changes ignores changes in horizontal whitespace.
  diffs ignoring all whitespace ignores horizontal whitespace altogether.
  diffs ignoring line endings ignores line endings when comparing files.

• Set the Show diffs using option to determine what information is displayed when the files are diffed:

  default shows the default...
  rcs shows additions and deletions made to the file and associated line ranges.
  context shows line number ranges and three lines of context around the changes.
  summary shows only the number of chunks and lines added, deleted, or changed.
  unified format shows added and deleted lines with sufficient context for compatibility with the patch(1) utility.

• Set the Resolve files based on option to define the parameters used when resolving files.

  all diffs shows all of the diffs in the file.
  diffs ignoring whitespace changes ignores changes in horizontal whitespace.
  diffs ignoring all whitespace ignores horizontal whitespace altogether.

Miscellaneous

Page content limit -- controls how much text P4Web will send from the Perforce Server to your browser in a web page. Some browsers can get compute-bound trying to display very large pages. If this is a problem you have, try reducing the P4Web page content limit. This may also limit the amount of useful information you can see with P4Web but it will at least prevent your browser from swamping your workstation.

When P4Web reaches the page content limit, it sends a message for your browser to display. If you find you are seeing the page content limit message often, try increasing the limit.

The default page content limit is 1024K bytes.
